Director: Bhuwan KC
Starring: Anmol KC, Samragyee RL Shah
In My Eyes: 1.5/5

Yet another love story, and yes, without the happy ending! The favorite piece of cake for moviemakers lately. When it comes to visual appeal, Dreams is a clear winner, courtesy the lavish lifestyle of characters, stylish costumes, beautiful locations and the good-looking lead pair. The movie, otherwise, is just the average one.

There is a little suspense established in the mid of the movie, which is supposedly the positive point for a film as it is what the movie is actually packing inside. But the most of the post interval seems dragged to finally come to that point. Even in the first half itself, there are numbers of quite unnecessary scenes. Action scenes don’t look convincing; a lean hero single-handedly beating off about half a dozen strong-looking goons. Moreover, a hero just arrives at the time to save a heroine, every time. Cinematic liberty?

The chemistry between the lead pair is nice, and the happenings to form their romance are good to watch, even though the cliché it is. With that little drama for tragedy, Dreams is the same love story formula as we have seen in many other movies, but is still watchable. So, the direction is mediocre while the screenplay is below average.

Dialogues sound rehearsed rather than natural. Nevertheless, few of them sprays some humor. Cinematography is first-rate. Music is pretty good, but not as much as the music of Jerryy. (Even while watching Dreams, the viewer sometimes might get the feeling of watching Jerryy again; except for the heroine and that new cup of tragic plot.)

Coming to performances, all are average. Anmol KC sure has the charm but there can be seen enough space for improvement in acting, especially in dialogue delivery. Ditto for Samragyee RL Shah. They are good in scenes where they can be their casual selves. Sandhya KC has nothing much to do. The woman playing Anmol’s mother is a letdown. Are there no other good actors to play a mother?

Final Say:

All in all, Dreams is just another love-story flick which has more gloss and less soul. Slightly below average.
