Bajrangi Bhaijaan - Being Human

First thing first, the show stealer in presence of towering Salman Khan in his movie is angelic Harshaali Malhotra, and how. She just wins our heart.

Okay, yes, people are telling the truth, i.e. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is indeed Salman Khan’s best till date. However, I wonder which one is better, Radhe of Tere Naam or Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi of Bajrangi Bhaijaan! Both these movies showcase the actual acting prowess of Salman Khan. He is the ‘Being Human’ Bhaijaan, onscreen and off-screen. And we cannot stop loving him, in fact, this love has just got high after the encounter with Bajrangi.

For a movie to be good, the whole team must be just right. The writing (story of V. Vijayendra Prasad) and direction (Kabir Khan) are as prime as Salman Khan and little Harshali Malhotra. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a delight, a fragrance over gold. This movie also has some drawbacks, some unnecessary songs, a filmy dramatic climax, but we simply overlook those for the movie, as a whole, is too good. So, it’s not perfect, but the question is - what is complete perfection? After all, the warmth and sense of humanity in the core story and the entertaining yet heart-touching presentation play big time for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, apart from electrifying Salman Khan and very pretty Harshali. This is just so awesome, is all.

No, it’s not a usual Salman Khan movie although it has its Salman Khan elements and we happen to enjoy that anyway. There are no cheesy laughter riots yet we laugh and we smile many times in a film. There are no power-packed action sequences involving some funny-some dangerous villains and chasing, squashing, kicking and all that, but then, there is one short sequence where he bashes out goons and that is well presented; not every action has to be flying kicks and all. He even does a shirtless scene, but this time, he’s not tearing his shirt apart to show his abs but is being beaten by the police. Point is, portrayal of innocent Bajrang Bali devotee got more realistic in that way.

The best thing – it has a story – emotional and endearing. Neither the barriers on border nor the religious differences can stop humanity; it’s being human on both sides of a line. I bet most of the people have reached on the peak of emotions throughout the movie. You watch the little girl in trouble, you feel the pain of that child, you feel the tears of Bajrangi, you feel the warmth and tears of happiness on reuniting of a mother and a child, you can sense the heart of a helpful journalist….all along with smiling and laughing over witty dialogues and humor. By the end, don’t get surprised if u shed a tear or two.

Salman Khan is extremely wonderful; he has actually performed his heart out, immersed his all self in the character, underplaying his superman-imaged roles. I don’t think it can be wrong to say that this one has made his fans prouder than ever. But as Bajrangi says, Munni hi toh main hai, she is indeed a main, a show-stealer. Harshali Malhotra as a mute Shahida/Munni doesn’t speak a single word but strikes you straight in your heart by her expressions. She smiles and you get oh-so-cute; she cries and you just feel your eyes extra wet. She shines throughout the movie with her charm and cuteness. She is superb. Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a vital supporting role is brilliant. He is an actor par execllence.

Among all the nice songs it has, Tu Jo Mila stands out and it carries the theme of movie in it.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is more than super! I enjoy Salman Khan movies but this one is more than enjoyment, it’s heart-touching. It is beautiful.
