Nepali Movie Songs 2072

As the year is few days close to the end, I pick out few songs from the lot of soundtracks of the Nepali movies released in 2072 B.S. These are the ones, which I personally feel are better than the others are.

1. Jaalma and Surke Thaili Khai

Jaalma (Resham Filili)
This one needs no explanation. Period!

The happy peppy track became the biggest trend on social network within the week of its release last year and contributed a big factor to the success of movie. The song that was on the mouth of the children to the senior citizens alike has already become an evergreen piece of music. One can’t resist the urge to groove when hearing this composition of Kali Prasad Baskota. His catchy simple lyrics and his voice together with Somea Baraili complimented the unique feel of the song.

The original lyrical video had many views but has been deleted from You Tube.

Surke Thaili Khai (Woda No. 6)
This is as bigger hit as Jaalma, or even more. Surke Thaili Khai is now the most viewed Nepali song on You Tube with over 6 million counts. The best quotients of this song with Rajan Raj Shiwakoti’s music, vocals of Anju Panta, Rajan Raj Shiwakoti and Raju Bishwokarma and the catchy lyrics of Shiwakoti himself are the very Nepali feel and the groovy tunes. It has the old school feel and that is what makes it perfect.

Deepa Shree Niroula and Kedar Ghimire shine in the video.

2. Ma Yasto Geet Gauchhu (Prem Geet)
Perhaps the most romantic song of the year, this one is rich in melody. Sugam Pokharel and Anju Panta’s vocal combination sounds wonderful. Arjun Pokharel has composed a soothing and melodious music for the simply beautiful love-story words penned by himself. This one is just same as the movie title – Premgeet!

The video looks equally good too.

3. Maya Ka Baadal (Kabaddi Kabaddi)
The best sad song of the year! Lyrics by Aayush Niroula and Anupam Sharma is too good; it combines the words that so meaningfully compliments the feelings of love on the verge of the tragic point. This song in the music and vocal of Anupam Sharma is one good sentimental piece.
Moreover, it came at just the right time in the movie, elevating the emotions of Kaji.

4. Maile Socheko Jastai (Prem Geet)
Yet another song from this love-story movie, the music of it is full of melody. Short and sweet, this one, composed by Arjun Pokharel and penned by Dr. Krishna Hari Baral, is pretty hummable, especially that intro music (00:24 – 00:35). It is very much pleasing to ears; the background score of the movie was also full of that very music.

5. Resham Firiri (Resham Filili)
The title track from Resham Filili is good too, the pain-describing words composed in a traditional Panche Baaja make this song unique. Even though it didn’t become as hit as Jaalma, this is one wonderful track. Well-done Kali Prasad Baskota.

6. Lappan Chhappan (Kabaddi Kabaddi)
The fun track from Kabaddi Kabaddi yet again proves the talent of Kali Prasad Baskota. The words and the way of singing ensure the fun quotient. Music is much good as well.
Apparently, Lai Bari Lai and Kali Prasad Baskota both are the trends of 2072!

7. Prakriti Ko Sundar Shristi (Classic)

Beautiful lyrics of Dr. Krishna Hari Baral and voice of Melina Rai highlights this song. Music (Tara Prakash Limbu) could have been better, though.

I personally love the cover by Namrata Shrestha more. Her collaboration with Rohit John Chhetri sounds amazing.

8. Musukka… and Chiya Coffee

Musukka Hasne Timro Baniley (Hostel Returns)
This song by Swapnil Sharma is a good one, pretty melodious and groovy/happy track.

Chiya Coffee (Nai Nabhannu La  4)
Sugam Pokharel again, with Indira Joshi this time. This track from Nai Nabhannu La 4 is quite a delight to listen, thanks to the chiya coffee words.

9. Maina Raja Maina Rani (Nai Nabhannu La 4)
Prem Pariyar is back with this song, after two years of his hits from Nai Nabhannu La 2. This song has the purweli feel due to its lyrics and soi-soila chorus. It sounds pretty traditional track.

10. Ma Ke Bhanu and Timi Samu -female (Dreams)

Ma Ke Bhanu
This is one decent track by Herculese Basnet. Somea Baraili compliments him nicely. But this song is not up to the mark as his previous ones from Jerryy.

Timi Samu-female
Timi Samu sounds better in the sad version of Somea Baraili.

Special Mention to these another fun tracks!

Thungde Thungde (Fanko)
Talk of unique song, and this one surely fits the bill.

Hit Geet (Kabaddi Kabaddi)
Hit Geet was not that hit, but is a fun track due to it's lyrics.

Happy Listening.
