Performances of the year 2072

There is no lack of talented actors here, what lack are the proper script and the direction to show the potential. Here are my favorites from the year gone by.

1. Khagendra Lamichhane (Pashupati Prasad)
The writer himself, Khagendra Lamichhane gave life to Pashupati Prasad. He nailed it like a champ with this one too, after donning the Tulke perfectly. One powerhouse of a talent he is.

2. Dayahang Rai (Kabaddi Kabaddi)
The screen presence of Dayahang Rai is itself an alluring one. When he acts, it looks like he is born for the character. He is very good as Kaji from Kabaddi franchise.

3. Kameshwor Chaurasiya (Resham Filili)
He rocked as Hariya and how. This was his first full-fledged role in a film and he made everyone clap for his talent.

4. Richa Sharma (Ko Afno)
Come versatility, and she is the one. She did the wonderful job as a hurt mother who longs for her son to return. Her character lacked the required presence on screen and some dialect was not matching to the character, but she delivered almost perfectly for whatever she was given.

5. Nazir Hussein (Hostel Returns)
He was supposedly the supporting character, but apparently, he was the lead one. Except for few emotional scenes, he did his job brilliantly. One good performance.

6. Saugat Malla (Fanko and Kabaddi Kabaddi)
Saugat Malla is another most versatile actor we have in the country. He was super as Bomkaji in Kabaddi Kabaddi and equally good as a driver in Fanko. He seamlessly gets into his characters.

7. Namrata Shrestha (Classic)
I was disappointed with the movie, but I liked Namrata’s performance. She made her blind character look real, and was good in emotional sequences. However, at places, hers and Aryan Sigdel’s characters looked like an alien, I wonder why!

8. Pradeep Khadka (Prem Geet)
Pradeep Khadka breathed a fresh air into the Prem Geet with his acting skills. He looked good and acted finely throughout the movie.

9. Bipin Karki (Pashupati Prasad)
He is one phenomenal actor, doing every role with finesse. His Bhasme Don in Pashupati Prasad was a delight to watch.

10. Buddhi Tamang, Bijay Baral and Pashupati Rai (Kabaddi Kabaddi)
These actors are truly talented, they shine with nuanced performances in their respective briefest roles

The few others I liked are:

Prakash Karki and Mishri Thapa (Pashupati Prasad)

Rishma Gurung (Kabaddi Kabaddi)

Menuka Pradhan (Ko Afno) and Pooja Sharma (Prem Geet)

Karma and Vinay Shrestha (Resham Filili)

Abhaya Baral and Swastima Khadka (Hostel Returns)

Keki Adhikari (Fanko)
